Since boaters may not always see divers, and currents can carry you farther than anticipated, launching a delayed surface marker buoy (SMB) before surfacing is crucial. This signals your location to others and provides an additional safety measure, allowing you to complete your safety stop while using the SMB line, which is especially helpful in currents or when visual references are limited. To participate, you must be a 7-Heroes Open Water Diver aged 12 or older.
